We found Irene through a neighbor who gave her a strong positive recommendation for the designs she created for their home renovation and we couldn’t be happier that we decided to reach out to her to discuss possibilities for our home. After submitting the contact form on her website Irene responded quickly to discuss general information and to recommend that we start by using Houzz to begin identifying style preferences. Irene visited our home a couple of times to learn more about our desires and we were impressed by her diligence and passion for her craft. When she shared her proposed plan with us we were stunned at how well she captured our “dream home” while also demonstrating an understanding of the limits and possibilities of the existing structure. This is our “forever home” and we couldn’t be happier that we reached out to Irene to bring our hopes for it into reality.

Irene Designs designed and completed a kitchen/great room/mudroom remodel. Irene incorporated my ideas while sharing concepts I wouldn't have thought of and patiently revised until we finalized a gorgeous design. The attention to detail and the exceptional craftsmanship of the carpenters gave a unique fireplace surround, gorgeous crown and a beautiful kitchen. Constant communication through the process was appreciated and creative solutions to any issues that arose ensured a final product we love. We enjoy the new space and all the new features daily.

Absolutely thrilled with our remodel! Irene Designs LLC was great to work with for taking our closed-in and dated kitchen to a fully renovated kitchen and a modern and beautiful open floor concept in our raised ranch. Irene Designs had a fantastic vision for transforming our space. Our new kitchen is both functional and stylish, with thoughtful detail that nicely complements our living and dining room open floor plan. What really set this experience apart was how well they handled our pets and kids. With 3 young kids, 2 cats, and a dog, we were nervous about the disruption, but irene designs went above and beyond to ensure everything was safe and comfortable for them. Our whole upstairs floor feels like a brand-new space. I can’t recommend Irene and Gene enough; their professionalism, vision, and care for our family were exceptional.

When I first contacted Irene I was a little nervous as I had never hired a designer/contractor before. But upon meeting her I could tell right away that we were going to do well together. She saw the vision I had and put it all together. Irene came to the house to take measurements and to listen to what I had in mind. She came up with a plan to remodel my kitchen, living room, family room and half bath/laundry room. The 360 renderings she did were so helpful in visualizing what would be the finished project. The house is a 1968 colonial with very small rooms. We opened up the kitchen/ living room to make one big space. It made the kitchen much more efficient with tons more storage. We also decided to add on a deck off the family room. Irene designed that and Gene had his crew build it. I cannot say enough about the quality of work, professionalism of the crew and attention to detail that both Gene and Irene put forth. The crew cleaned up at the end of each day. I definitely recommend pre-construction space planning and the 360 renderings. Without those I would not have the beautiful space I have now. We couldn't be happier!

Irene Designs LLC is a very unique company as they design, assist with your decisions and then complete the project,. They take your ideas and put them on paper to give you an idea how it would look. Irene then gives you suggestions and ideas that improve the project. In our kitchen remodel she suggested an additional window for better lighting and enhanced our garden window design. The suggestion for the countertop, Cabinets and floor made the perfect look. Gene and his subcontractors then make the entire project come together. What a terrific job.

Our kitchen has been long overdue for a makeover, but every time we started, we would quickly become overwhelmed, not knowing where to start. In our eyes, the floor plan had limited options on what we could do to improve our space. Unlike others we considered for help, Irene started with a conversation on our vision and goals. From there, she brought a creative and fresh perspective with her design where we didn’t think options existed. It was not an easy task but one that she took on with enthusiasm. We’re well into construction and thrilled with where the project is going.

I contacted Irene Designs through Houzz, along with other contractors, and Irene got back to me right away, even though she was on vacation. Her and her husband Gene came to assess our needs, as we had an elderly family member that was moving in with us and we needed to have our shower enlarged and made handicapped accessible. They were both professional, while at the same time understanding of our urgent needs. Gene was able to schedule construction around his other scheduled jobs, and the shower was finished by the time our elderly parent moved in. Throughout the process, Gene was always in contact, and after initial down payment, only requested remainder of payment as each part of the job was completed. His team of professionals were all respectful and hard workers. We are delighted with our shower renovation and are grateful to Irene and Gene for easing mom’s transition into our home. Irene, Where do I start? Irene Designs (Irene) is amazing. Her vision of my remodel for my living area/kitchen was beautiful. While I consider myself as having a minor degree in Martha Stewart design myself, I know when to call in the professional! Irene used her intuitive design method and technology to help me create the vision of my pass through for my living area. I am not trendy when it comes to design and use more of what feels "comfortable" to me and my living space. Irene knew exactly what my vision was and came through (and then some!) I HIGHLY recommend Irene Designs!

We had a big kitchen project and Irene Designs did a wonderful job making our dream kitchen come true. Irene worked with us using multiple 3-d images so we could see the flow and help choose the design that worked best for us. We appreciated the help in choosing cabinets, flooring and tile. Irene Designs worked with us through every step of this process and we could not be happier. Irene and Gene are wonderful to work with and are extremely caring about their clients and making sure everything is done perfectly.

We hired Irene to help us with our kitchen design. Original floor plan of our home in Higganum, CT had the door to the garage right in the middle of the side wall confining the kitchen space to approximately one quarter of the main floor. We were considering taking down the wall between kitchen and formal dining room. We wanted our new kitchen to be bigger and we wanted a bigger island. With the existing set up we didn’t have enough wall space on the garage side to have a nice hood over the cooktop and we couldn’t make it a “statement” bump out. Irene came up with several new kitchen designs (11 options) and we were able to see them all in her 3D renderings. We were going back and forth discussing our new options and making changes. The plan we settled for had our garage door moved a couple feet to extend the wall space for kitchen cabinets and to allow for a smooth traffic flow around bigger island. We got two walls taken down instead of one. Irene came up with an idea to get rid of the front hallway to add room to the main area. Our powder room and coat closet were relocated towards the garage wall, and it looks great. Our kitchen remodel was performed by another contractor but having clear interior design concept along with architectural drawings laid a good foundation for the project and helped in the estimating process. Irene also assisted us in the selection of cabinetry and finishing materials. We are very happy with the project outcome, and we will reach out to Irene Designs again when we get to our master bathroom design next year.

In need of bringing my 1990's kitchen to present day, I hired Irene Designs to handle my kitchen remodeling project, which included kitchen design, kitchen planning as well as kitchen construction. Two issues that I needed addressed were 1) Two half walls separating the kitchen and dining area and 2) I had no real prep area. I was impressed with the fact that within 5 minutes of entering my home, Irene mentioned these two issues before had the chance to. A 360 degree render, provided by Irene of our discussed kitchen layout was an amazing tool and gave a visual learner, like myself, a much easier time seeing how things would look. It was comforting having Irene during the shopping experience. Without her, I'm sure I would have chosen the wrong countertop. Gene was extremely pleasant to work with during the construction phase and his workers were not only prompt, it's obvious by their craftsmanship that they care about their work. Irene Designs did a complete renovation of my kitchen and adjacent sunroom. This included new flooring, new ceiling, removing everything from the old kitchen down to the studs (replacing drywall and insulation). This project included a number of modifications to the original layout; Irene provided several floor plan candidates that used the space much more effectively. The previous kitchen layout had less storage space than I have now, and much less counter space. I got a lot more of both with the selected floor plan. The 3D renderings were essential in helping me to select the final floor plan. The new kitchen and and sunroom are lovely and functional. The original kitchen had dark and dated cabinetry, ceiling, and countertops; we met my goal of a higher space with a more open feeling. Irene's advice on material selection (cabinet style and color, floor and backsplash tile, countertop color) was excellent and cohesive. The team of people working with Irene Design are professional and do quality work. Work that was arranged included original kitchen demo, complete electrical and plumbing work, painting and carpentry. I have an older house which had out-of-date construction features, and got very good advice on how to modernize this space.

We have been dreaming about a new kitchen for quite a while. My fiancé and I had different design ideas, but when we met Irene, she helped put both of our visions together. Before we met Irene, we were seeking help from a kitchen designer associated with a kitchen cabinet store; they came up with a design, however it was not sufficient for our purposes. What we had in mind was taking down walls, opening up space and creating a seamless transition between kitchen, dining and sitting room. Irene was able to replicate our existing space in a 3D model which allowed us to see multiple versions of the proposed plans prior to actually taking down physical walls. The walls are now down, and honestly, we wish we did this years ago. Irene Designs is helping us build out the kitchen as well. We can’t wait to see how it all comes together!

Irene has done an excellent job space planning our kitchen renovation. She took pictures and measurements, asked for our wishlists and discussed several design options. Her creative solutions combine state of the art function and great aesthetics, while also incorporating our ideas and requests. She is a true collaborator who listens and also gives her own opinions. Irene helped my husband and I reimagine our space and she created a new floor plan that will work beautifully for our family. Irene was able to design the guest bedroom and bath on the second floor and reconfigure our main level floorplan to move the bathroom and laundry room and create a larger master bedroom. She was professional and very nice to work with. We used her drawings and renditions and successfully obtained our building permit. Irene is wonderful to work with. She used the latest technology to collect images of our space, listened to our ideas, and was very responsive throughout. The best part of all was the amazing 3D proposals she walked us through. I could tell she put a lot of care into the final proposals and she provided more to choose from than I had anticipated. We hired Irene Design, LLC to renovate our first floor 1/2 bathroom and completely design and renovate both our second floor bathrooms. Irene helped us through every step of the process. It started with finding out what bathroom styles we liked, to showing us several 360 space planning designs for each bathroom, to accompanying us shopping to shop for fixtures, tiles, countertops, and cabinets, to finally being available throughout the construction for questions. Our bathrooms are beautifully redesigned renovated and the workmanship is top notch.

Irene recommended a complete flip flop of our existing kitchen which enabled us to install a door to our backyard. I love the access to our pool area. Overall a good experience with the remodel done during the beginning of the Covid shut down which did cause quite a bit of delay in completing the project but we were only without access to a sink for ten days instead of the entire time. Unfortunately my table still doesn’t fit in the kitchen although that was a request and our coffee bar wasn’t built so we could use our coffee pot easily. But we love the space and the newly created living area for my daughter.

I contacted Irene Designs, LLC to take a look at an abysmal bathroom to redesign it. Complicating matters was that it is a relatively small space. I had a difficult time visualizing an effective way to make the bathroom a useful space. Irene did a wonderful job of designing a space that will be both useable and a visually appealing design. She has also been a delight to work with. I'm looking forward to the finished bathroom.

We just completed a full bathroom renovation performed by Irene and her team and we couldn't be more satisfied and grateful for her overall design vision and the skilled workmanship performed by Gene and his team that made our dream into a reality. We get it, it's only a bathroom but, after thirty years with the original flooring, vanities and obsolete fixtures, you can forgive us for being a little bit excited to do a full update while incorporating enhanced features to our shower like large glass walls, a barrier free entrance, a linear drain, and a heated floor. Not much more I can add that hasn't already been stated in other reviews except that Irene and Gene proved both communicative and approachable throughout all phases of production. Don't go it alone, use Irene Designs.... Here's why.... Irene's creativity, precision, responsiveness, budget conscious mindset, knowledge of the latest trends and timeless classics is unmatched. We are at the end of the planning phase and in the process of picking out kitchen cabinets, flooring, granite, appliances and so on. We would not be to this point without Irene. We have less than an ideal floorplan in our home with multiple levels in the main living area and had no idea where to start with this first floor renovation. Irene came to our house one night and spent about 2 hours going over her process. We talked through our thoughts and ideas, she listened to what we wanted and didn't want. Over the course of the next few weeks, we met with other designers but most pushed their agenda on us for our home, which we didn't like. Irene listened and put a plan in place that we feel meets all of our goals and is budget friendly. Upon agreeing to have Irene work on our design, she came to our home took measurements, used 3D technology to map out our home and go over some additional ideas she had. Over the course of the next 10 days, we had 4 plan designs with multiple variations of each. While the process is not one that will be done in a few days or weeks, using Irene to do the pre-construction planning is important and a must. This eliminated any surprises for us and allowed us to solely concentrate on what our vision is. Recently completed a total renovation of a full bathroom (originally with dual vanities, toilet, shower, built-in jacuzzi) and adjacent walk-in closet (originally with the big box white wire racks) and was very pleased with the final product! The design, demolition (floor, walls & ceiling), and full installation of tile and fixtures performed by Irene Designs Inc., Manchester, CT. My thanks to Irene and her team who were totally professional, timely, capable, and tidy! Irene worked well with my wife and I to incorporate our desired features (after 30 yrs. of using the original bathroom you could say we had a few!) and she added several ideas and recommendations of her own which only enhanced our project. From her computer rendering (360 degree CAD) through each phase of the job, I’m glad we found this outfit to make our renovation a reality!

We are just at the beginning of our project to remodel 2 of our bathrooms. Thursday Irene took us shopping for tile, vanities and vanity tops, fixtures, and everything else needed for the project. If we had to do this by ourselves, I think my head would have exploded, but Irene knew what we were looking for, gave us different options, and made sure we got everything we needed. Down to the tiniest details. I would have forgotten half the items on her list. At the end of the day, we had everything we need to start the project. After long discussions, my husband and I decided to remodel our kitchen. This was no easy task, as the layout of our home presented several challenges. Our home is an l shaped ranch, and when entering the front door, you immediately walked into a wall. So to enter the kitchen or the hallway, you had to turn at a 90 degree angle, either left or right. We decided that we would like to remove that wall, but in doing so, we had to find a place for the refrigerator and the pantry we would lose. Irene redesigned the layout by relocating the sitting area and the kitchen area to opposite sides of the room. That gave us room for a pantry and the refrigerator. She produced several designs for us and worked with us on any changes in the design Gene and his team of contractors began the demo task. We were very impressed with their work. The end result is just beautiful. We now have an open floor plan -- same living space, huge difference. The whole project may have taken longer than we originally expected, with Covid issues, but we are very happy with our new kitchen. We highly recommend Irene Designs .

Irene and Gene are the perfect team. Irene created multiple plans from a list of must-haves and in the end we only had to make minor tweaks to the chosen plan. She is a great listener and visionary. Gene then took the plans and brought them to life with his great group of contractors. We hit a couple bumps in the process, but who doesn't with renovation, and Gene took care of it for us. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the end result.

We selected Irene Designs to remodel our bathroom. We enjoyed working with Irene and Gene. Irene is well known at the various vendors where we selected the materials for the project. She took the time to help us select the right materials. Gene guided us through the process and provided us with a detailed invoice and notified us if there were any changes that were needed. Irene Designs offers a 360 design service which is extremely useful to visualize a renovation project to view every room including your own furniture. This service is similar to virtual reality which is so helpful to determine the living space and avoid any potential errors from typical architect drawings. I highly recommend her services.

It took me several months to find someone to redo our bathroom. Our bathroom has not worked for 5 years. After we bought the house my wife took a shower and there was a waterfall into the basement. The entire bathroom had to be gutted and redone. Most of the contractors that we contacted either did not want to pull permits, wanted to cut corners, or did not seem to know what they were talking about. After our first meeting with Irene designs I had a lot of confidence in them. They did not disappoint. They did a beautiful job with the entire bathroom and it functions great. They had plumbers and electricians come out to do the work and permits all went through. They had people who specialized in demo, tile, electrical, plumbing ect. They also were there to work with us every step of the way. The owner himself came to our house on numerous occasions to show us receipts, and provide full explanation of how the job was moving along. They were extremely respectful, friendly and professional. Bottom line is they did a wonderful job and the experience was also fantastic. I will certainly use them again in the future.

We enjoyed working with Irene and Gene as they remodeled two of our bathrooms and upgraded our master closet. On the design side, Irene listened well to understand our needs and was able to create the bathroom of our dreams. She was easily available to answer questions or concerns. We could never have come up with her idea to eliminate a window and come up with so much extra space. Gene was also good to work with and he managed the construction phase of the project. He was flexible with our needs, given that my husband works out of the house. We love the finished product. We loved working with Irene. We planned to remodel the first floor of our home along with a staircase design and office on the second floor. We used Irene for her great work using 3D imaging. The use of 3D technology really helps you be able to visualize the project before redoing spaces of your home and not really knowing what the final look would be. We can already tell that this will save us money in the long run. It is so nice to be able to see what the space could become. Irene will also keep revising these 3D photos until you are happy with the outcome. We would definitely recommend Irene!

Irene was pleasant to work with .She had a good grasp of our wants and needs in designing a master bath, bedroom suite. She worked with us in selecting fixtures which helped us make the space extraordinary. She worked with us throughout the project to make adjustments as conditions changed due to the bones of the building not being what was expected. The team she assembled to complete the work was efficient, showed up when they said they would and kept the work site clean and neat as possible, kept disruptions to our daily lives to a minimum and the quality of the work was superb. My master bathroom was a complete mess- illegal remodeling from previous owner all around (wrong plumbing material, size, electrical box inside the wall to name a few), and it was causing water leak/damage. Gene and Irene have been extremely professional and communicative from the very beginning- keeping us informed each step of the way, any surprises, choices/decisions to make, etc. We are half way through the project and we cannot be more thrilled to have them working on this!

Gene & Irene are a wonderful couple who we hired to renovate our small master bathroom. Unfortunately, other than Irene's sweet demeanor, I cannot comment on her design as I designed the bathroom remodel myself. The work was performed by Gene's team and turned out beautifully. Irene was very helpful right from the start. She helped me redesign my new home to be more useful and practical. My original design had numerous flaws that she quickly pointed out and fixed. I wish I hired her first because I would of saved a lot of unpredicted costs that could have been corrected before construction started. I highly recommend her for new home construction or remodeling. Also she designed my kitchen from a woman’s point of view. This really made my kitchen able to be productive and efficient by having the right cabinets and appliances in the right location.

I hired Irene Designs to design our master bath. Irene had me create an Idea Book to understand my style then came to our house to talk about the project, measure and take pictures of the space and provided guidance on the process. Soon after our meeting I received 3D pictures of our bathroom incorporating the design and colors we discussed, she provided multiple designs to select from. Once we agreed on the style Irene went on a shopping trip with us to select cabinets, tile, counter tops, flooring and paint - we left each store with samples to take home. Irene provided detailed drawings of the space and I could not be happier with her attention to detail and the products selected. Her rate is very reasonable and I will definitely use Irene for future projects.

Irene was able to show us how to use our space to it's greatest advantage. She listened to our ideas and incorporated them into her design. We could never have selected the tile design for our bathroom without her experience and knowledge. The communication was excellent and I learned a lot from the process. We recently asked Irene to design a reading nook around our upstairs picture window. This is space that was unused and we wanted to make a unique area with character. Irene’s designs were fantastic. Irene was a huge help! I volunteer with Make a Wish - CT and we were in need of some help doing a room make over wish. I reached out to Irene in hopes that she would help us out, and she did! She had great knowledge and understanding of how the wish child wanted the space and how she could make it work! Her high tech equipment was able to give us a clear picture and understanding of exactly how the room would look! Irene and Gene Sampson worked together with us, steering away from sometimes ill-conceived notions (spiral staircase!) while expanding on our ideas for openness and light. With an emphasis on communication and a laser focus on quality we always felt Irene and Gene and their crew worked always with our benefit in mind. While the project seemed to take longer than we expected, the complexity (radiant floor heat, central air, wall removal/modification, basement stairs rebuild, etc) and the juggling of tasks it required were handled by Gene with a minimum of interruption to our daily lives. With previous not ideal dealings with other contractors under our belt it has been a welcome surprise to work with a company as dedicated and professional as Irene Designs.

I had hired Irene to do a design for my kitchen. She was nice but unfortunately, I did not even end up using any of the designs she provided. I went with a "free" design from a local store. I felt that because we were on a budget that we were not her priority. In the consultation phase she also said she had contractors that she recommended however when the design was done she told me they were too busy for us. It was so very disappointing to waste all that money.

We hired Irene to redesign our Master Bath after an unfortunate water leak. We had a list of what we wanted including a large walk in shower and free standing tub. She prepared at least 5, 3-D simulated computer models in a timely manner, with different lay outs that really helped us visualize the space with existing windows and closets, etc. that helped us make a decision on design and layout. She was great too at helping find design options when we ran into product delivery delays that would really hold up project completion while keeping cost and design style in mind.

We are very pleased with the outcome of our master bath renovation. Irene has a keen eye for design and presented us with many great options that made the most of our space. We used Irene to help us with a kitchen and mudroom redesign. She presented us with multiple options in 3-D design, which was very helpful to think through how we wanted to layout the new kitchen and moving some walls for the laundry/mudroom. It was well worth the time and money to use her design services and I would highly recommend her.

We hired Irene Designs to remodel both 2-nd floor bathrooms and our master bedroom walk-in closet. Having seen our project Irene offered us several options to modify the existing floor plan so that each bathroom looked more proportional. She suggested to add ten extra inches to the toilet alcove by stepping into adjacent closet and using the space that has been just a waste. It allowed us to move the toilet further in and have more room in front of the vanity. Walls between the two bathrooms were also moved to allow for better use of space and for better look in both bathrooms. Irene carefully designed our walk-in closet so that both my wife and I had our stuff in order. Irene did her design in 3D. It helped a lot since neither of us could quite picture the space until we saw it on the screen in her computer. I am glad we had a designer before we started the job. None of the contractors we had before, offered us any real concepts in terms of moving walls to improve the layout. We got quotes from three different contractors. Irene Designs’ cost was in the middle, and we decided to go with them. Gene was very professional. His team members worked every day while keeping the rest of the house clean of dust and clutter. The construction area was isolated with plastic wall. They used cardboard and drop cloth to protect our hardwood floors. By the end of each day the construction area was swept and vacuumed. We felt very comfortable with every person working in our home. We have two cats and a dog which is not very social. My wife was a bit nervous to leave people working it the house when we were not around. But having met Gene’s crew, she relaxed. And our pets actually liked everybody. Each week Gene met with us to present his financial statement with all the receipts. We knew exactly where we were with our budget. Irene helped us a lot with our shopping without being pushy. She educated us on different fixtures and materials, as well as the new trends in bathroom remodeling. We got rid of baseboard radiators in both bathrooms and installed radiant heated floor. I am glad we installed towel warmers as well. We now use them to dry our towels after they have been used. Recessed shampoo shelves and shower seat came out pretty nice, too. Irene was very detailed when doing the tile design for us. She positioned every tile and every border so that it looked perfectly balanced and proportional on the wall. Irene often stopped by the job site to check up on the progress and to help the guys with tile layouts and other stuff. We had some surprise when demolition was done. One bathroom wall butted up against the old chimney that was not functional any more, and we found some extra space behind the wall. The space was oddly shaped, but instead of simply blocking it up, Irene suggested that we created some shelving. It was really nice to get some extra storage. When the job was done we were deeply touched to find a bottle of Champaign in the shower niche. When we called to thank them they said it was their tradition. Overall, our experience with Irene Designs was very pleasant. They all are great people to work with. If we have any more projects in the future we know exactly where to go.

Irene came up with a beautiful design to finish our basement that incorporated our wish list while making some unique additions that really create a WOW factor. She provided 3D visuals that really helped us "see" the finished basement and she readily incorporated our ideas in revisions to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. She's helped with selection of tile, cabinets, carpet, paint, etc. and provided suggestions for good vendors for fixtures, etc. Gene and Irene always told us when it was important to go with higher priced options and when it was OK to go with lower priced options. They have held all subcontractors to a high standard, ensuring that our final product is of the highest quality. They were in constant communication and were involved every step of the way. We were looking for someone to do a couple bathrooms for us. What we got with Irene was a talented designer that was focused on meeting our needs. Irene developed several different arrangements and presented those as CAD drawings with several views to give us a good idea of what it would look like. Irene created lighting solutions for our home, which was built before ceiling lights were common. We wanted recessed lights on a sloped ceiling, and ceiling lights for rooms that were lit only by lamps. Irene quickly drew several options for the position of the recessed lights using 3D software, and helped us pick out modern lights that fit our taste and budget. We hired Irene Designs to design and provide construction services for our remodeled bathroom. We wanted to upgrade our shower but, maintain the existing tile around our jacuzzi tub. Due to the existing layout, it was a challenge to integrate the new shower tile and glass with the existing jacuzzi tile. Irene provided drawings and sketches of various designs along with sample materials. This was extremely helpful in allowing us to visualize what the new shower would look like integrated with the existing jacuzzi. They provided demolition, wall preparation and tile installation services. They also arranged for the shower installation and plumbing modifications. We hired Irene Design for our basement finish project. Our goal was to have a finished basement that would provide enough room for entertainment to fit a bar and a pool table and would also have a guest room with a half bath. Initially Irene met with us to understand our ideas and then provided her own suggestions on how the space in our basement can be used in the most efficient way. We especially appreciated her showing us a few different 3D models with various design options. She also made her recommendations regarding specific materials for the project and helped to select them as well. The work itself was performed in a timely manner and we had our basement ready for our New Year party! Working with Irene was a very pleasant experience as she has an ability to make your renovation job enjoyable and relaxing. We will definitely hire Irene for our next house renovation project.

This is not a typical review, but our association is unique and I trust that yours would be the same if you were to select Irene Design as your consultant. We met Irene at a home show. We had been thinking about remodeling the interior of our home, but wanted a design consultant to work with us. We contracted with Irene Design to be our consultant. During the first visit to our home to take pictures and discuss with us, what we liked and disliked, I pointed out to her that the carrying partition on the first flow did not run parallel to the outside wall. Thus, any pattern in the flooring would also appear to diverge from the wall. Irene, immediately suggested that the tiles be installed at a 45 degree angle, which totally eliminated the problem. We then continued to work with Irene on the layout of the bathrooms, the wallpaper selection and the carpeting to mention only a small portions of the interactions we had with her in arriving at a design that met our needs and tastes. We had differences with Irene, but in each case Irene was always open to our suggestions. We would sit and discuss the pros and cons of each change and were always able to arrive at a decision that best met our needs. Once, we had finalized the design, we prepared a bid specification setting out exactly what we expected the contractor to do and what we would supply. This bid specification was given to 4 separate contractors including Irene Design. It should be noted that Irene had assured us that she would work with whichever contractor we selected to assure us that the design, such as the tile layouts in the bathrooms would be done as she had planned. While all four contractor bids were fairly close, Irene Designs bid was slightly less, so we selected them to perform the construction. At the same time we had also contracted with an electrician and a painter/wallpaper hanger. The electrician did an excellent job, however the painter made some serious errors in prepping the stair case walls for papering. After several attempts by the paper hanger to repair the problems, it became evident that all the paper in the stair case would have to be remove, the wall repaired and primed correctly and then repaper the whole area. Irene Design, on learning of this said that they would do the repair work at cost to help us out of this difficult situation.
