Our home is very similar in style and colours. We're adding a pergola to the right and left, the left (slightly hidden from road) will be glass covered. I planned the same white as the trims, but beams are 4x12! The builder said most folks who invest that much in wood/fir wouldn't paint it white. The structural engineer went from 8 to 12" for snow load - now I'm worried it'll overpower the house! Please help?
