My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Cooktop in island or not

We're remodeling our kitchen (in a 1977-built rambler) and think we want our gas cooktop placed in the new kitchen island. Our new double ovens will be placed in the wall opposite the cooktop. Good idea or not? Please vote below.
Yes, put the cooktop in the island. You'll love it!
No, don't do it! You'll regret the counter space you give up.
You should remodel your basement instead.

    We have had a Jenn-Air in the island for 26 years and I love it. It is the only way that I can interact with folks while I am cooking and not have my back to everyone. I have a moderate sized island 6' x 5'. I have no problem with clutter on the island or any issue with folks sitting on the other side being anywhere close enough to reach over to the cooktop to get hurt. I have other work surfaces for prep that are close to the island and the sink area so I do not feel I gave up counter space that I would have used otherwise.
