I love the taupey grey cabinets. A couple of things to think about...

--This look appears to provide minimal contrast between the flooring and cabinets. Do you like that look?
--How much wall space will you have to paint? The counter and the wall paint color (and possibly also the backsplash) will provide the lighter contrast that you will need to keep your room from feeling too heavy. I suggest looking at backsplash options now as there are many dilemmas on Houzz from those who wait until the last minute to do so. It really impacts the overall look of your kitchen. You should also consider at least a general range of paint colors at the same time.
--It looks like you have a good amount of lighting in the space. Overhead lights along with task lighting (under cabinet LEDs) will help the space feel open.

I recently renovated my kitchen in NYC. I chose white cabinets and brought in the taupey grey with my wall color. Good luck!

Thanks for all your help. I felt safer with off white, it's classic and timeless, but know the taupey grey is more of a statement. Would you go with the light, marble quartz sample I pho graphed, or would you go with a dark counter as in you photo?

Hi lucindanyc...I would feel safer with white cabinets and taupey walls like you did, although I never realized matching the cabinets to the floor would create a bigger look. I always thought a white kitchen would look bigger in a small space.

Personally, I like the look of the contrasting quartz that you selected. The look that ASV posted is also nice, but more on the monochromatic/tonal side of things.
