Dining Room needs some cplor/accessorizing

Hello-We have finally made a lot of progess on our dining room! We finished tearing down the walls to insulate, installed new windows and a new light fixture and finally have a usable space.

I would love any suggestions for some decorating. We need more color as everything is pretty neutral with different shades of brown, with accents of red/coral and blue. I was thinking adding a curtain could help bring in more color but am conflicted about covering up our trimwork we spent so much time fixing. Would it make sense just to have a curtain over the one window and the groups of windows behind the piano with nothing? I just don't know how I would install curtains in the piano nook area. I definately need some vases or accessories on the buffet- any suggestions are welcome :)

I would leave the wall color.
If you aren't attached to the upholstery material, I would have them redone in a mustard yellow. Add mustard & poppy red accessories, paint or change the mirror frame to something darker like the chandelier & I would even put a vase of faux mixed colored poppies on the table or piano, grey place mats with poppy red or coral napkins. I would find a rug that incorporated these colors...

    OR

Go turquoise upholstery, make mirror frame darker... yellow/red poppies on table. Turq accents on piano...

If you keep the chairs that color, I would get a solid rug... I feel like there is a lot going on with 2 patterns. also bring that banana cream yellow color out more in the accessories that you choose...

I think a curtain just over the one window would be fine! You could even do curtains over the piano nook & pull them back... make it look kinda like a stage... If you went with a pattern on one, I would do a solid color from the pattern on the other... To keep from hiding your trim work, you could try roman shades, for privacy, or plantation shutters...
