Interior Trim and doors on remodel

Doing a major remodel on a 20 year old home. We have white 6-panel doors and white trim. I was planning to replace with alder wood doors and trim. Now I'm wondering about doing wood doors and white trim. I've seen some pictures, but not sure about it. The kitchen will have white cabinets. Also replacing windows, so do they need to match trim?
