Brown shows etches much worse than the whites. Etches show up white. If that freaks you out, you'd have to ban using any types of acidic substances in the kitchen. That means making your kitchen over into gramma's plastic covered living room that no one ever used.

Choose something else if you can't embrace the normal behavior of marble as it acquires it's patina.

Thank you Sophie Wheeler. I had no idea the etching would show up even more. I don't think it would bother me but it would drive my husband mad. Onto figuring out what to do next.
