Hi dowdjp, as a certified kitchen designer, I try to follow the NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association) guideline's when designing kitchens, but that's not always possible.

Ideally, the sink would be pushed even further away from the corner, so if two people were in the kitchen at the same time, and if one was standing at the sink and the other was opening the oven--they would not intersect with the other. That's in an ideal world!

This happens to a tiny, one person kitchen--10' x 10' to be exact. And luckily, my client wasn't fixated on the sink being centered on the window (it's not always the best solution), so I was able to give her my minimum desire of 12" from the corner for the sink cabinet and 18" for the range. This will allow you to have lazy susans in each corner.

Good luck with your remodel. Small kitchens are much more challenging than larger ones!

was it tough to choose between brushed nickel and oil rubbed bronze....considering same counter/cabinet combinate, but wasn't sure which way to go with hardware

The hardware in the photo has more of a pewtery/ black finish, which adds a nice contrast to the white cabinets. I like to use oil rubbed bronze hardware with rich wood finishes.

What color grout did you use, light grey?

Hi db11, the grout was a dark grey--as close to the color of the tile as I could get. I like the tile to pop, not the grout.
