are you going to have undercab lighting? is the middle one shiny?

I pick the third option. White will be too stark with your cabinets already white. The gray is nice, but it looks like you might have warmer/goldish paint tones going on. So, 3 is my choice! Good luck!!

We will have under cab lighting and I am going to a 'greige' or white gray paint. The white is shiny. The beveled white is shiny too.

I love your options! My choice would be either the gray subway or the tumbled marble. As much as I love white, I like the warmth of the gray or the marble.. Good luck. I am sure it will look great!

I like the one to the far left. It wouldn't blend too much with the walls and is a good contrast with the cabinet and counter tops.

Adding a couple more pix. That is our old wall color that is being painted over. We are completely updating the kitchen. I added one more sample that we had ruled out. It has a great texture.

i think the 3rd option, and one that is least shinny as undercabs can be reflected in them, and also make sure you get a WARM color for you undercab, so they don't change the color of the counter and back splash.

I like the light gray on the far left of the first picture. I would go with the larger tile size given how busy the countertop is with not too much differentiation between the tile color and grout color.

yes. it is. its like the million glass pendant lights with edison bulbs...trendy...get lasting!!

HELLO! While I totally appreciate what others have posted,,, and I do concur - the white is out - without knowledge of your flooring and other current treatments in the home - I would simply suggest that you consider the grey. As you may know, grey is HUGE and trending in all areas. Fresh clean and cool... a very workable element. In any event - you cant go wrong with the subway tile selection you have chosen. Unless you're looking for very safe and traditional, wiith this granite I'd stay away from another stone. I don't think you need the added texture or variation in color. Solid color ceramic or glass from this poster.

Since my husband lives here too ;) I have to take his thoughts into consideration and he is (unfortunately) very opposed to glass tiles. I kept sliding it into view as a possible choice which he very promptly poo-pooed (sp). We just picked up the comfortable travertine which is what was suggested from day one that I did not want. Now that the countertops are down and I can actually see the full effect it does look nice. I think by the time all of the lighting is done, new appliances are in, etc. I hope/think it will work. I don't want to be like one of the posters that is ripping out all of her new backsplash. Thanks for everyone's input.

I'm all for husband's opinions. Mine picked out the pendants, not my first choice, but what the heck! Good luck, and post a picture of the finished product.

Going against most of the votes here, but I agree with Adivra in the sense that I don't find the stone tiles interesting at all with your counters. I do find the white tile to be the most appealing. It is a closer looking match to your cabinets (compared to the old more starck white tile). To me it is a much fresher and less tired looking choice, and less likely to look dated in a few years.

Tumbled-
the white doesn't look right with your countertop and the glass isn't working either. That countertop is such a natural color, white is too much. The glass looks better with a more solid color counter.

I got vetoed by everyone in my family on white with a grey grout. I just knew that is what I was going to do! In 2 1/2 hours we will have travertine subway with grey grout that matches the counter. Keeping fingers crossed. You interior design experts out there, I admire your talents and patience immensely.

The sample on the far left is my favorite. I think the contrast with the cabinets and the countertops is most appealing to the eye with that particular choice! Good luck with your pick!

I am officially a nervous wreck. Advice: do not have a contractor come in to do a job like this on a Friday afternoon. (Deep breath). We had to have them recut some of the trim they put up because they had it butting into the white cabinet face at the bottom. You hate to lurk around while people are working but geez. I just hope we don't have the "B" team this Friday afternoon. Also, how is tile supposed to be trimmed where the tile stops? What is the trim piece called? What we are using stands up pretty high compared to the tile depth itself. The colors look incredible though.

im so sorry......friday's and monday's............i am never sure where the actual contractor is when the b team is around either.....i just had this issue yesterday...not with tile but a cieling fan. i feel like they ask joe shome to do jobs they cant. ........breathe, and pay attention. too often i have people come to me with broken or ruined things...and they dont know what happened...its better to be hands on in your own home!!
