My family room has a difficult layout. It has an entrance off the front hall and you must walk through it to get to the kitchen. One of the longest walls has a sliding door, a fireplace, and a window. This leaves two other walls 1 - where the tv is placed and the other is opposite the fireplace. We have a young child who needs a place to play and we also need a place where grownups can relax.

Current Furniture in the Room:

Ikea Ektorp Couch (pictured)
2 Leather Club chairs (pictured)
a barrel chair
TV cabinet/TV (pictured)
2 end tables
1 rattan chest that serves as a coffee table

I am interested in the attached bookcase -- wondering if the color would be okay with my walls and where I might put it.

Ideas and suggestions would be much appreciated!!!
