What are you envisioning, a "neutral" colour, gray, greige, white, beige or a colour, light in intensity of hue? What is happening colourwise in the rest of the house, for flow? With gray and bright white, you can get into fresh clean colours rather than earthy. What other hard surfaces (flooring colour and material, trim colour, fireplace perhaps) exist?

Thank you for your note, Caroline! We have BM gentle gray in the adjacent dining room, and envision something in a soft white/grayish color. Would prefer not to stark white - but don't want anything tan/beige. We haven't chosen the flooring yet, but we have a dark hardwood in the dining room, and will likely extend that to kitchen.

Do you like BM Shoreline or Whisper (CSP-500)? Looks like it might work with Gentle Gray (which I'm considering lightening anyway...it's a little darker than I wanted).
