Keep them. Sure, they are not properly sized, but they look wonderful as part of the house. Was this house in an earlier post a while back, BTW? I think I remember the flowerboxes and the unusual entrance door.

I'm clearly the odd person out. I would remove them because they are the wrong size for the windows and make the front look a bit crowded to me. The windows are substantial enough on their own to carry the front of the house. But I don't think there is a wrong decision here, just two different aesthetics.

Would anyone suggest changing the shutters to the board and batten type or keep the style that's there now.

Very cute house! My first thought was to keep them. However, I agree that these shutters are not the right size for the windows, and most likely, are not original to the house. In a Tudor, the shutters, if any, would have been the same width as the window so they would be functional. If you were to go wider, I believe it would look quite crowded. If you decide to keep the shutters, I would definitely go board and batten. I know it's a chore, but what about removing them all for a week and see how that feels? Either way. your house is super charming. Enjoy!

Why I do believe since it is such a small portion, I would white wash the brick;)
