Hi, I'm just about to go with an almost black roof myself and it took ages to get right, and I think you may need to get some expert opinion on this (find an artist and it'll probably be free!). The thing is, some taupe colours have a grey tint, and some have a pink tint. You can only tell which is which by putting them next to black or red. Same applies to your dark wood door and shutters - do they have a red colour in them, or a blue colour in them. Sorry to sound technical but you could end up with the wrong choice, so you really need to get samples in your hands and put them all together. Please show us the pictures?

I have a similar color house and have a "weathered wood" architectural shingle. I have additional accents on the house in black, such as iron railings, and large black light fixtures, with a red front door. Looks great.

a black roof is often not the look the person wanted. if you wish to go in that direction, look at dark charcoal gray.

I went with black on my Tuscan clay cedar shake siding.

Would love to see what decision you made. I am trying to make one with a similar siding.
