I think I would add a bench and pots of flowers under the triple windows on the right or a raised bed with a lot of flowers. Check out the flower bed under the windows in this photo.

Thanks all! So navy blue is the consensus? I love the flower bed in that photo. I originally had the two flower stands under that window, but thought it was a waste as there is typically at least one car in the driveway blocking it.

BZD, cute house! I would paint the door a bright color, I love blue, more of a medium cool blue for your house. If you are not sure about the siding and you want to paint it, gray goes great next to brick and will compliment the blue door.

Two huge pots with tall plants, preferably with flowers, in front of the window in front of the driveway, this way you will expand the look of the front area with colorful plants. Good luck.

The overgrown hedge is hiding your nice home. Pull it out and plant an updated blooming garden with plants that work in your zone. Dwarf hydrangeas and azaleas will stay small and provide spring and summer color. No shutters, but I think you might get away with a fabric awning over the lower trio of windows where the siding is. If properly chosen it would help balance the roof that is over the bay on the other side.

i've noticed a trend on traditional ranch homes of the 1960s and 70s in my area. People are removing the shutters; it declutters the homes makes them look clean lined and modern. Perhaps it has to do with less maintenance.

I would suggest light blue or light yellow for the door. Your home would look nice with dark grey shutters that would match the roof. If you ever want to make a large investment in improvement, I would suggest you have a mason add matching brick to the side of the house where you have the garage enclosure. A matching bay window on the right would be nice too. The white siding, which you now have, will detract from any door color you choose.
