I often hang 2 chandaliers when I have a very long table or something very linear or even a track with 3 hanging fixtures

Form Follow Function ~ Is this still true? If so, then you may wish to consider the amount and direction of the light produces. The beauty of a fixture is long forgotten in a dark room.

Also you may wish to consider the color of the light source to avoid your furnishing and culinary delight from changing colors when illuminated.
