We are in the middle of a kitchen design, and I was hoping to get your inputs on two items: cabinets and flooring.

cabinets: we like the thomasville beadboard (white), and I was hoping to get reviews about their quality and durability. JD Powers ranked them highly, but reviews online have been mixed so I'm torn.

flooring: the house was built in 1890, so part of its "charm" is that the floors are too bowed and flexible too allow for tile (without cost prohibitive upgrades, that is). The next obvious choice is wood-- the problem is that we've already had two kitchens with wood floors (including the current kitchen) and have not been happy with the way they have held up. Any advice about wood/tile alternatives would be appreciated-- or on ways to keep wood flooring looking great in a heavily used kitchen.
