can you put up a picture of where the table would go, and where it is adjacent to the kitchen? Are you trying to emphasize the straight lines of your cabinetry or soften some of the architecture?

The color of the 2nd one seems to match better, but I like the straight lines on the first one. Mimicks the cabinets better. Tough choice, but if I had to choose between the 2 I'd go with the 2nd.

its hard to be sure without seeing the space where the table will go, but if its a kitchen I would choose the second (all wood) one. both are gorgeous. the second one looks like it will stand up better to kitchen use.

You should go with the round table. It will fit the space better and goes great with your cabinets and brings out the white in the backsplash.

I would also go with a round table for the space. Adding some softness to all the straight lines in the nook and kitchen will add interest and warmth. Having a square apron on the table and also straight lines on the chairs will pull everything together nicely.

I agree that a round would be ideal - I am attaching a couple of options from Ethan Allen - The glass topped Trevor is 42" - the Ryland is 48" - do you have dimensions of the dining nook? The great thing about a round in this setting, is that you can have a more modern leg, and the shape of the table top will soften the space. Remember - no matter the table the chairs you choose will create the most visual impact - (along with window treatments, art and accessories)

I like the white one its modern and unique. I think it would go great with your dark cabinets
