I would suggest a single piece of art in the space above dresser that fills most of that area.

A small armchair + small side table or upholstered bench.

I think a good room usually has some lighting that does not come from the ceiling, just keep layering softness.

i will add some picture frames on the plastic box wall ... also i will add color balance on top of the courtins just give the room some color point ... consider a dark metalic purple on fabric... some shelving between windows might help too same color as balance windows..

This room lacks 'luxury' - the storage boxes need to go, quickly! A beautiful bedroom chair with a small table that could house a pretty jewellery box. Your curtains need weight to add more quality so either line the ones you have or go for a new pair in something like a raw silk with a single tie back. Do you need two curtains at each window? How about one at each with one tied back towards the wall and the other tied back towards the wardrobes. This would let in light and look very elegant. It's a lovely room and you only need a few little touches to make it a wonderful retreat!

Add a new tall chest of drawers where the old one was, where storage boxes are now. Add a statement mirror over the other chest of drawers. Clear off the top of the dresser if possible.

Then add new window treatments unless you love these.
