Not sure of which windows you are referring to, are they the arched ones? By tile surround do you mean the tiles around the windows?

Yes we don't think the tiles around the windows are in line with the original style

I'm assuming when you say "Tile Surround" you mean the brick and mortar look in the window arches. If this is correct you can have the brick removed then refilled. I'm going to pretend that the exterior finish is Stucco. During the removal of the brick you will create penetrations in the head flashing which is going around the window surround. Additionally in this line of work most people do not like stucco work being that any alterations or modifications made to the formed stucco could essentially create cracking along the repair or modified work surface. Additionally you will want to repaint the entire front of the house to made the fading effect that the UV rays from the sun create over the course of the exteriors lifetime. If you plan on removing the brick I would recommend a good stone mason to carefully remove the brick and a very good stucco contractor for the blending of the existing to the modified stucco. If you are going to rework the front, a single one of those windows centered would have been closer to period appropriate, with perhaps two smaller square windows high and flanking. .. depending on your room layout, you may want to remove one of the windows altogether, or use it in a different location in the rear of the home.

I think that is a great idea.
