Get some LED bulbs a much nicer light even cheaper to run than CFL and probably won't have to change a bulb in your lifetime. They can rplace the halogen bulbs that are in a lot of the pretty pendants you see just use a 7 watt LED to replace a 50 watt halogen.

Does it give off a warm light? All the LEDs I've seen have kind of an eerie blue glow.

You can get them in different temperatures so just choose a warm white
