Mary, the way to "merge" the classic style of the dresser with the country top and painted bottom and the traditional style of the armoire . . my advice is to chalk paint the armoire in a two color layering and also change its hardware . . but selecting a color given your non-palette palette . . pale green walls, some oak, some brown leatherish topped ottomans . . . a pale greige finish is going to be your best friend, where you distress it back on the details so some of the current finish comes through . . it is easy and it doesn't take much paint, but you will need to wax it in when you decide you've got the right look. I'd mix ochre and country gray for you. . and start on the back so you get the hang of how you want to put it on. You can put it on, then take a clean brush with water and distress some of it off to see how the detail works. Simple pulls in dark pewter if you change hardware not as nickel as the other dresser . . maybe take what came with it and use pewter rub n buff on it and try that . . don't think cups will work well here . . use the paint on the bases of the leathery type ottomans I see too so its repeated somewhere.

Then, you need a great armchair on the window wall but probably in a linen slipcover since you are rocking the animal prints.. .due to that, I'm not sure about turquoise. Since the room is essentially eclectic, an earth toned neutral palette is going to be the best for you here . . shades of chocolate to linen. If you can find a headboard with fairly straight lines, in a wood tone like the round table and the dresser top (not matching but near).

Then, buy one amazing, gorgeous (could be printed canvas) LARGE canvas piece of art with mostly warm neutrals, and possibly some blue-greens. Put it over the bed. Then you can add a throw to the chair in blue-green (but a soft green blue green instead of bright turquoise) and put a bluegreen dish on a nightstand. I would budget for some new lamps and put these in the guest room.

As for the layout, I would put the long dresser under the window. Switch out the shorter nightstand with the round table, so that both night stands are the same height. Center the bed in that moulding on that wall and "paint" yourself a headboard on the wall within that trim. I have attached a photo. I think you could use turquoise as an accent color and do gray on your walls.

Furniture placement: Center the bed into the niche. Remove the table on left of bed and replace with one under the window. Place dresser under window. Decorating: A padded headboard, lots and lots of pillows that are layered, a throw at the end of the bed, if you can purchase two new side lamps and a chandelier. Curtains on window will really complete the room and paint walls that compliment pillows and curtains - whatever your favorite color is.

I think you have the bed on the right wall. Move the dresser to under the window, maybe with a chair. Then center the bed between the wall and the closet. Your nightstands should be the same height.

I wouldn't paint the armoire. I'd change the hardware on the dresser to something dark so it doesn't contrast so much.

I'd put a more modern lamp on each nightstand. Something with some bling.

I think your ideas are good. An upholstered headboard is a good option - in neutral tones and the accent color turquoise is a great choice

Here is what I did in my bedroom. The lamp on the dresser is just temporary - going to my family member. Heat wave, hence the fan.

I have your bedroom in my photo bin, and it has stymied me. It's because the headboard looks downright mauve. Next to it, your bedding looks kind of salmony-pink.

You'll have to decide if it's worth returning or exchanging. You could also slipcover it. If you do decide to keep it, maybe you can photograph it in natural light and we can get a truer color. Maybe...

Grover....Thanks so much for your input! Walls, bedding, lamps are all warmer gold/ khaki undertones....I originally thought this would be neutral and more eclectic.....but when it arrived it seemed to have a cool undertone....it really is a linen look...I like it but my eye is telling me otherwise....
