We would like to update our existing exposed brick fireplace. I've considered painting it, which I think would be an improvement, but ultimately I'm not a big fan of brick. I'd like to drywall over it, add some stone, and a new modern mantle. Anyone else have any thoughts? What kind of contractor do you call for this type of work? (FYI, this is an old picture, we've changed out the furniture and the yellow color is now a cool gray).
