Need Help figuring out a cased opening solution

The opening between my living room and kitchen meets at an angled wall, so it can't be cased on both sides like a normal casing. I am trying to find an asthetically pleasing solution on the angled wall side of the opening. My options right now are to just stop the trim casing where it meets the wall on the other side, or run trim down the angled wall. (which I think would look awkward.) Please Help!

Tricky without some pretty detailed dimensions, but I'd look into squaring off that wall beneath the beam and almost abutting the hinge side of that door. That provides would provide a continuous jamp L, R, T, a landing point for casin on both sides.

But maybe not. So many variables. These are the details it really pays to have put the time in with CAD - that problem has existed for a while, likely, and it's just becoming evident now that the finish carpenters are in.

Poor design :( The door would look better not angled. The space above the door as seen from the blue room is odd.

I don't see that there is room to extend the wall left of the door a bit to have a place for the casing to run. Maybe you could relocate the light switches right of the door and move door to the right creating room to extend the left wall?

That opening wasn't framed for casing. Don't put casing on it.

Did this ever get solved? Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread, but I am curious because I have a very similar problem. I have a 2-sided opening that dead ends into an adjacent wall and it's just odd. I am debating doing a board and batten feature on the awkward wall to help it fit in with the casing around the opening. It's so lonely the way it is! What did you end up doing?
