What color paint/door could improve this house? Shutters/no shutters?

I am not looking to spend a lot of money, but need to make this more attractive....I was thinking white with black or red door? The house next door is gray so that isn't an option. Does it need shutters? If so, what color?

PRO12 years agoPaint the house grey(a different shade than the one next door), lose the shutters, bright yellow door, windowboxes. If you really don't want the grey on the house paint the house yellow and do the door in grey. Consider relandscaping but in the meantime the windowboxes will draw the eyes away from what is there. I am attaching some photos of windowboxes in 4 seasons and some colors. Hope this helps! :)

12 years agoSW has a beautiful color called Sticks and Stones. Sort of a deep taupe that I think would be beautiful on your home. I've used it on mine with white trim and black door. I think your home's trim would look good in a color in same family as color you choose for house. Your home is more contemporary than mine. I agree with removing the shutters.
