When I was growing up, and we moved into our new home, my mom bought a round table that was probably 4.5 ft across, and there were 5 of us. It worked fine.

Before you buy something, measure out the diameter on your floor so you'll know how much room it's going to take up.

a 44 to 52 inch round table with a pedestal base that won't interfere with chairs would fit all of you nicely.

This may be nice if you are looking for a change, but the rectangular gives you length and makes it appear roomy. Round may seem like it will become a focal point.

The present table and dining is beautiful. I would recommend to stay with it.

I love the present one. But may consider switching out the bench for 2 more chairs instead.

when i look at it like this…i have to agree that the rectangular fits the space better!! thank you! i probably just got bored LOL

My kiddos love the bench….which is why we've kept it...

Don't forget, those kiddos will one day be teenagers eating everything in the house. Then you'll want all the space you can get.
