My vote is dark brown. Brown and gray palettes are very popular because they blend neutrals nicely. With a black door, unless you use a lacquer type paint or perform regular maintenance, it will tend to fade - especially if there is strong sunlight - making it look shabby before its time. You might consider a single side light if you don't want to move electrical. Or even a mission style with glass on the upper portion only.

A brown door will be great with the shingles, too. No shutters when the siding is done, though, right???

That's your call. The house is definitely Colonial in flavor and it is another place to add interest. However, you could skip them at the door and keep them elsewhere if you'd like. It looks like you have seating along the front so you could also add an outdoor piece of wall art on the right side of the garage under the covered porch. A great place to sit, relax and watch the world go by.

I would definitely go for a darker shade on the door. Either dark brown or black would work but I personally would choose the dark brown as well, seems like a better fit with your house color scheme! Good luck :)
