Brackish is not a stain made to be used for solid handscraped floors, it's for cabinets. Industry standard stain colors are manufactured by " Duraseal" . When floors are installed raw, sanded, hand-scraped & coated with poly-urethane real professionals use Duraseal.

. Brackish is only used on pre-finished engineered floors. It sounds like your builder is either not familiar with industry standard flooring practices or is planning on installing using an engineered floor.

If you would like a darker stain color I recommend Duraseal Ebony, dark walnut or Jacobean . Duraseal also offers many mixed formulas to achieve the desired color.
