The best photos with the most questions are the work of professionals - architects, interior designers, craftsman and builders. Generally, they post here first and foremost to showcase their work and build their clientele, not to give away their sources and design expertise for free. That being said, in my experience, many are happy to answer questions but have paying clients that take priority, work long hours, and can't respond to each and every inquiry. I've also learned that being impolite is a sure fire way to never get an answer. Ask nicely, be patient, and if you don't get a response don't take it personally.
