I would do horizontal everywhere

For comfort and natural ease of use, door handles should be vertical and drawer handles should be horizontal. 9" handles won't be too small, 13" will probably be too big except on the widest of drawers. Whatever you choose, don't mix the direction on the uppers as shown in your picture, although I'm thinking the masking tape is just for demo purposes.

I agree with adivra. I sometimes have problems looking at the very long ones & always question which way was correct. My OCD
