I would tend to believe the "flooring guy". Adhesives do NOT like water any more than solid hardwood likes water. It is very possible that even though the wood "looks OK" the adhesive has been compromised = floor failure in a few years.

I would slow down and wait to see what is happening in a few weeks. I know this is frusterating...but some wood will curl a little and then straighten out. The plank next to it might curl and NEVER return to form. This is where it gets tricky. We have to wait to see what the wood does AND what the moisture readings show.

Once the moisture readings drop to normal (this could take a while) you will be able to see how "easy" it is to remove the 100sf (the stuff we KNOW has to be replaced). If that comes up as easy as pulling daisies...then the adhesive most likel has a problem.

If the workers are screaming and swearing because it is so HARD to pull up those planks...then the adhesive is probably fine. Until some of the hardwood is removed and inspected...we are only guessing at what "needs" to be done.

Beyond that, the single advice I have is "wait and see".
