I like plants more than cut flowers, I like the life that a plant has and the longer time I can enjoy them vs flowers. I even tend to grow more grasses and plants with colorful foliage vs flowering plants in my yard and beds - I think for me cut flowers with the color and fragrance they provide seem so short lived for my taste and I'm not the type to continually refresh vases. I'd like to be the kind of person who has cut flowers in my home but I just don't. I've even gone as far as asking my husband to stop getting me cut flowers and to pease give me plants or bulb flowers so I can plant them. This way I can keep them going year after year. It just seems to make better sense to me.

I love living plants but I can't keep them living. So, I use fresh flowers to add like to the room.

Oh, contrare, I am the odd man out here. I voted "other" for NEITHER - too much work, too much fuss and I like my plants to coordinate with my decor, so when I use foliage, which is infrequently, I go for the fake stuff. I play with the real stuff in my garden, which I do particularly love to watch grow.

I like plants always and cut flowers in season.

I think cut flowers look luxurious, I guess because of the money that goes into them, but I do not like watching them wilt.

I prefer live plants in the home, but there are times when cut flowers are nice for more color or a special occasion.

I love to take a french tub of water and mosey around my property finding interesting things to cut and bring in. Could be beautiful foliage, or blooming flowers. I love to see my outdoors indoors! I (actually husband) bring pots inside during cold spells so I have such a combination of both that I think that should have been another choice on which to vote/

I plant a cutting garden (as well as containers) so I can bring cut flowers in while still keeping color in my yard, on my porch/patio, and in my garden. The best of both worlds!

I know we live in a "throw away" culture, but bringing home dead plants/cut flowers when you can have living plants in your home seems wasteful (and a little morbid).

Don't get me wrong there is an art to cut flower arrangements and it is a beautiful thing I just can't get into it myself - I also feel funny bringing them in for a few days when I can leave them out and alive for many times that.

I like both house plants and fresh cut flowers. I use clippings from my house plants and fresh cut flowers in my fish bowls and use the fish bowls to decorate around the house year round and the fish love it!

i love to buy real plants at the grocery store as they are usually $1.99 or $2.99 and then go to the dollar store and buy stocks of flowers with multiple branches and I stick them in the real plants and it looks as though I have exotic blooms year round. So awesome and colorful

I grow dahlias just to have cut flowers in zone 4 Ontario till the frost...and lug them all inside every single fall to overwinter...lots of work but totally worth the prolific bouquets that would cost a fortune to replace every wk-10 days...so long lasting and high impact.

I do not understand people who say they cannot grow plants. It is really very simple, provide some light and some water. Most house plans are killed by overwatering, which "drowns" the plant. Most plants thrive on neglect. I have houseplants that are over 40 years old. I water when the top inch of the plant is dry, give a good drink and make sure the pot has drainage, so the plant doesn't sit in water. If a plant doesn't look good, move it to a different place to see if the light is different.

i've been known as the serial plant killer, so, cut ones for me!!! for the life of me, i realy don't know what i do wrong, but plants do not survive in my house!

Why not both? Many of the plants I would keep in my house are more foliage, something to help the air and let an anchor for nature into the room. Fresh cut flowers brighten up the place, and are so easy to change based on the seasons. (And when I was a kid my mom liked to keep fresh cut flowers around the house. She always said it was a sign of a home you love...and just classy).

Both. I have a lot of plants in my house - not to clean the air, just because I like the way they look - and when something outside is blooming, I like to bring in a few stems and put them in the vases I have here and there with plant cuttings. I only get full bouquets for special occasions.

I have both, but use the cut flowers as an accent or for special occasions. I have a fiddle leaf ficus in my living room and herb plants in our kitchen year round.

I love my flowering plants outside....Mother Nature helps take care of them. I have a hard time keeping indoor plants alive because I forget to water them. I did have a Schefflera tree from a little ceramic booty we got when my son was born. I gave it to him to keep when he turned 30. He's in Alaska now so the tree is back.

I really love fresh flowers....but green fresh plants are very nice...

I like to combo fresh w/green. Those water tubes that florists use solve the "the fresh needs water and the greens not so much" situation.

I love my houseplants, one ficus is 12 or 13. I'm not much of an outdoor gardener for some reason. We did inherent a rose and peonies which I love (the peonies) and would like a lilac hedge. Cut flowers are a treat, as they're not part of our budget. Hubby will bring them home sometimes, for no reason at all, which is what makes them special. I'd rather get them for no reason than "because it's valentines/birthday/anniversary ".
