Do the kids play or eat on your bed? Under normal wear and tear, the linen headboard should do well.

Thanks for the quick reply. Definately no eating but kids will be kids so we try to minimize playing in the room. The linen is around the bed including the headboard, sides and foot board.

Yes, I did a quick check on the Elte site to get an idea of what you were considering. It's like a linen surround. Ask Elte how to clean it -- what you can use, then go for it. They are beautiful. But no juice or pop on the bed!

Linen breathes, think of linen trousers: freshly ironed in the morning, but wrinkly in the afternoon. It has wonderful tensile properties, but is reactive to moisture. Perfectly measured and hemmed 100% linen upholstery or drapery can get saggy in humid conditions. A better question to ask your vender, is the linen blended with a cotton or poly yarn? This adds stability to the fabric, and yet still allows for that slubby natural look we all love and adore. If it's for upholstery, chances are your vender is working with a blended yarn, but it's always best to ask for their professional cleaning instructions.

Thanks 9sunview. I went back to ELTE today and read the material is 55% linen and 45% rayon. I also attached a couple of pictures, one which shows the material upfront. The consensus I'm getting from a few different sale people at ELTE and others I've spoken with is that the blend should help sustain the material; just keep the kids with scissors and wine away :)
