I do plan on sewing different pillow colors, these came with furniture. Once I get other items in I will work on pillow cover colors.

HI -- The furniture you have looks too big for the room. Then adding the tables you mentioned is going to fill the room up even more . Perhaps a coffee table that has a glass top or something that is not so solid looking . For the fireplace , maybe just one object art piece just off center on the mantle would be enough .For the curtains just have white or neutral color drapes that fill each side top to bottom and side to side in a semi-sheer or light linen ,-grommet tops or ripple fold tops .

Inexpensive fix to what you've got would be to paint the brick a rich color, then pick up that color in pillows or other accents. Although the brick does have a pattern, you still need something on the mantle.

I suggest you take the money you'd have spent on matching tables and buy a media console instead. Then mount the TV over it on an articulating arm so you can turn it for best viewing.

Here are more pictures. We are redoing this room and painted the fireplace white. Furniture is new and has to stay where it is. I am looking for ideas for drapes or sheers, carpet colors and yes I do plan to change out pillow colors. Just wanted someone outside of my box to suggest there thoughts. I can't address curtains and pillows when the furniture arrangement is so out of whack. A TV never belongs in front of a window. And the big window is a big, black hole. Put the sofa in front of the window, the chair to the left of the fireplace, and the TV on the wall where the sofa currently is. It looks like there is barely room to walk between chair and loveseat. Too much furniture, too little space. Sorry.

That is a lot of furniture, but it is a pretty set. Magazine worthy decor is nice, but sometimes you just have to do what works best for your family. I would get rid of the blinds and buy top down-bottom up shades for the windows in the same light neutral color you paint the wall or 1 shade darker. I would raise the bottom of the shades and get 2 matching cabinets for each side of the fireplace probably in a medium to dark wood tone for contrast and star storage. Try to get them to fit tight. If you can get the tv onto the one on the right, you can raise the shade up so it fully covers the back of the tv. You will still be able to watch the tv from the kitchen. Put the sofa on the longest wall, the love seat with its back to the kitchen and the chair in your bedroom. Get a rug-on-rug pad, and spend your money on a wild colored contemporary area rug. Pick up an accent color from the rug with a couple clear glass jugs or vases on the mantel. Instead of a coffee table get 2 matching ottomans and when they aren't in use put them next to each other in front of the bigger window. Keep the side tables small but not tippy as they will be on carpet.

TV needs to be against the wall instead and your furniture is too big. About the color dilemma, a rug would have solved that but you already have one so your next bet is the pillows and changing the wall color.

I like always lookin idea of the love seat with the back to the kitchen and put the chair in another room. Though if you can put the tv on the long wall and the sofa on the window wall that would be better. No pillows. Only one tanner side table and small cube ottomans instead of coffee table. Have fun.

The room does not appear to be challenging, but the furniture is; too much of it and too big. Would the chair and ottoman work in the master bedroom? TV on the large wall above a credenza, not a TV stand. One sofa floating perpendicular to the FP, back to the window, and other sofa in an "L" with it, facing the FP. Coffee table and end table (not matching,) one table lamp and one floor lamp. For some texture try fiber roman shades under stationary panels. Look for a rug that includes your favorite color and then sprinkle it around with curtain fabric, pillows and accessories.
