Shutters would help a lot!

I agree shutters would help. Its a such a very large , Flat Face. You should consider adding some small roof lines to the left of the door and over the garage. Expensive but worth the expense. Additionally, I would have used vertical siding and horizontal siding and frieze boards to break up the surface with different lines and texture

probably a black or pewter that plays off of the roof color?
I think the scallops can look good but I feel like they are out of proportion. Perhaps a larger radius on the scallop.

Thank you. Yes I was thinking grey shutters also. My husband is putting grey stone on the very bottom where you see the white but I do think it'll need more but were over budget already..ugh

talk to a designer about paint. spending a few hundred on a designer to recommend how color can improve your curb appeal could be a great relief. You guys can paint... its surprising how color can minimize or maximize certain features. Good luck... I bet its gorgeous inside!

How about playing with colors on siding? (color choice is completely optional)

Little late for you for some of this stuff but for the lurkers out there....Two colors help break things up as well as another color for the "base". I like to use the trim color for the "base" so it ties it all together. And extra color doesn't add a single dime to construction costs with either prefinished or painted siding. Some wall relief ("ins and outs") goes a long way too. Example posted of a beach house I currently have going up. What you could still do is construct a small roof supported by brackets over some of the windows like in the example but I don't really think that will help the eye much.

Maybe rip off (I know, OUCH!) the very poorly proportioned door cover and widen it so both it and the entry deck goes beyond/over the window to the left.

A lot of the stuff mobilemattfarley already mentioned but I agree with him and maybe you (otherwise no post!) in that it looks like it's a "very large flat face" and needs help.

I think the house looks great. If the shutters are just ornamental then I think they would look cheap and busy. The porch are needs som attention and when the railings are done I think it will be fine.

Perhaps extend a veranda on stilts from the porch across the garage so you can be outside without going to ground level.

Architecrunnerguy...unfortunately for us we had a bad architect who we met with once and a few emails so my husband and I are now winging it... I would love to redo the porch but I was told we used up our lot coverage. Would you add more scallops to peaks or remove them and do asek across the 2 peaks. Would it be too much blue....Any suggestions on how to add dimension would be VERY helpful

I think it is what it is. The windows are very small for the expanse of siding. I agree with others that just tacking up some shutters is not the solution. If you do, they must actually work (or at least appear to work).

The scallop detail looks a bit off so I wouldn't add more I would just try to make everything as clean and contemporary looking as you can. I think painting the same trim color "below the line" as architectrunnerguy suggests has the biggest potential payoff for the least amount of money.

Hard to see where you are but getting some green plants and stuff will also help. Assuming you are not in Phoenix or something.

Regardless, it looks like you will end up with a nice big new home that has a lot of good interior space that you can concentrate on.

I am interested to hear more about what happened with the architect. Was it really a licensed architect? How did you select him/her?

I'm with jn3344. There are very poor architects out there, as there are poor "professionals" in any profession, but it's hard to believe that a person who had a shred of formal design training came up with that. What happened?

I think what we're going to do is do stone work below the asek garage area add asek across the 2 peaks. Don't know from there!!!

I found this house I think if we do some definition going across the peaks and above bottom windows it will help...thoughts!!
