My husband and I recently retired and decided to sell our home, downsize, and move to an apartment because maintaining a large yard and home was more than we felt up to handling now and as we get older. The kitchen and bath are very basic, and since this is a rental, we cannot update with backsplash or painting cabinets; however, we are allowed to paint walls and hang things on the walls. I would appreciate any suggestions...whether to paint (if so, color?) any art suggestions, and whether to have anything on top of the cabinet that shows from the living room. I thought of perhaps identical baskets above cabinet or black framed same - sized artwork or maybe nothing if it looks cluttered. Could possibly paint or stencil the wall stove is on. I appreciate any ideas... Thank you so much!
