Coming to this post late but what the heck! Find you a nice weathered pair (or 2 pairs) of shutters and use those to anchor a gallery wall. Look on Houzz, Google images, and Pinterest for gallery wall ideas and you will find a ton of ideas. You can include vintage objects, paint-by-numbers, family photos, small shelves with vintage bric-a-brac, etc. Find or build you a large crate (old wood pallets can be re-purposed) to hold wood. I'd want it on its side so the wood was stacked visibly to the front. You may have to add something on the opposite side of the stove to balance the weight of the wood crate/box - maybe a trunk or bench seat. When organizing a gallery wall, I generally lay everything out on the floor first so I don't make many mistake nail holes in the wall. You can also create paper size templates of your items and tape them to the wall. I start with larger items and slowly work in the smaller things. The intermix of larger and smaller will keep it from becoming overly busy. One other thing you might consider in addition to the gallery wall is to create some type of shallow mantel above/around the stove - but keep in mind any top heat that radiates from the stove. You don't want the mantel to be too far above the stove but not so close that it creates a fire hazard. Make sure that you keep the idea that your items are being hung near and around an open heat source. Hang appropriate items above (nothing overly flammable) and be conscious of how heat might affect objects (candles might melt, etc.).
