Deck design dilema

Hi,
I am designing a new wooden deck for my house and I am not convinced about the shape. Should be as in the pictures or quarter circle.

    That's not a deck. It's a house addition! It's something that will be very well regulated, and possibly prohibited, by building code. Best to familiarize yourself with those requirements first before the design phase. Including any local provisions about the amount of green space needing to be left on a lot.
