If you are going that far, I would go all the way and gut the shower. Replace tile with a more contemporary look and frameless shower.

Agree with mcbmd3. Gut the shower stall and replace with a tiled modern look.

This is one of those things that if you don't have the money to gut it today- than wait until you do. Your tile isn't horrible but a white subway would give it a classic look. The kind of doors being suggested to you are pricey. I saw a design show add half walls - tiled inside- that made the shower cheaper than full glass doors. Pretty sure it was Sarah Richardson.
