Wow, that's a pretty rug (in the photo above)!

Ann, that is a lovely rug (and the lamp and art go so well with it). The entry into our apartment tells people that we are bird/nature lovers with several types of art (metal, paintings, assemblage) that have bird subjects. Sitting on the bench to put on my shoes, I can enjoy a different piece throughout the day.

The entry to my house will show that we have a small house and I've tried to create a foyer.
Not impressive for that first impression, but I like it.

My entry shows I am a neat person in desperate need of a new flooring option.

Coats drying, and bike helmets hanging, shows we are out in the weather alot.

Grobby. I think it is impressive, don’t ever apologize for it. Your entry tells me more about you than many people’s entire homes. Walls, sofa, lamp and crystal container, inform you like a light filled space that can change with accessories. Pillows, art, lamp shade and ottoman disclose you enjoy color. Floor statue, floors and pillow – shout you are an animal lover, especially dogs and one in particular – perhaps a dog owner. Landscape, plant, ottoman and green pillow –divulges you enjoy nature and quiet peaceful spots. The ottoman and table top arrangement reveal an orderly, but lived in nature. You may want to keep a few things private, disclosed by the ottoman and hidden book titles. Lastly the entire beautiful entry, in all its variety, unveils your creative and eclectic spirit. Well done.

Even if it is small, there is usually room for a rug or mat and art. Of course the wall color and a lighting fixture are also personal, so combined they provide a taste of things to come. The extras also help...tons of shoes, a dog leash, a babygate, school bags, etc. So an entry can tell alot (sometimes more than we want)!

My front entry says I am serene and organized. My back entry says I am a busy girl struggling to keep my head above water! :D

DW and I both come from modest backgrounds, so a dedicated entry area is not in our gestalt. So the front entrance is to our living/music/library room. I imagine it would say we're of a certain age given all the analog stuff (books, vinyl albums) and our furniture after all these years is still pretty sparse.

Right now I'm in the middle of moving so no photo, sorry. But I hope it will say, come in, enjoy your stay, and make you feel welcome.

It says I have two shedding dogs, three boys, neighborhood friends and no mud room.

I think an entry tells a lot about a person as generally it's right where they come home to each day. Is it cluttered with papers? Maybe they're the type that's very busy with work, family, etc, or is it super clean and kept to the 9s? Do you see family pics, or just photos of Paris? Maybe there are pet leashes and muddy boots... I've found that a lot of our clients like to make statements with their entry ways and one of their main ways of doing so is with our custom "statement" chandeliers. Nothing really says more about a person than something they customized themselves.
