Thank you everyone! We love it, especially in the winter with a nice fire.
Pyramid Design Group - we used a black exterior paint and watered it down, about half water and half paint, and applied it with a mixture of cloth and brush. We didn't worry about the grout because we knew we wanted to go over it with a different color after it all dried. It worked out nicely and only took about a day of work!

Nice job! What do you think about tricking out the whole wall a bit, like this photo? I sent these to my sister, wondering if she wanted to do said-same. It's just a change in paint color and some easy-to-do fake board + batten. Might ramp up the feature wall you've got going. Whoops -- didn't mean to send it twice! Good luck!
