I feel like they would look okay but not great. What color if your bedding? That might help you find the right lamp.

I agree with not selecting things that necessarily "match". I have a set of candlestick Art Deco lamps. I purposely have one in the living room & the other in my bedroom.

I found them at a Marshalls about 15 years ago...all lamps were in pieces from everyone selecting bases, different shades, different finials! I pieced together exactly what I wanted.

What style curtains would look good on this window please. It is supposed to be a small den but I made it my office/sewing room. I found aqua and yellow tropical material I love but do I do valance or panels? Ty

I feel like the lamp shades aren't quite right - too much of an office feel. I like your first choice better. Agree also that you don't necessarily need to match the styles. Consider online interior design if you'd like to see how your choices will all look together in your space - 3d renderings can show you exactly what the end result will look like. Good luck!

That first pic with the dark lamps - pretty lamp but imo too dark with your dark furniture. Second gold lamp is pretty but why not go with one that is bigger and a bit more contemporary/classic looking to freshen things up a bit?

That is exactly the bed that was in my head. :) Yes again to the satin. As to window treatment, it appears that panels are going to be in your way. Softer styles of fabric shades - a relaxed roman, or a london - could look well, and add some pattern, too. If you prefer just a top treatment, consider a cornice.

On the window - it depends on the look you're after. I love curtains but typically in an office or den, I go with blinds or shades. I agree with studio10001 that the panels might be in your way given the current furniture placement (and probably difficult to open/close). Wooden blinds are nice for texture and warmth, and roman shades are nice for adding color and pattern - what type of feel are you wanting in the den?

I'm guessing from the window fabric choice that you are leaning toward a British colonial feel? This link may help w some additional ideas:

I'm no designer, but I know what I like. In your bedroom.....since your furniture is pretty "beefy", for lack of a better term right now, I would find something tall & slim. Too many large pieces are going to make the room look too stuffed. Too full. Lighten up when it comes to the lighting & maybe even the window treatments.

Do you think you need a lamp on both nightstands?? Can you maybe put one on the left, a smaller version of the same on the mirrored dresser & maybe, if you want another, get a tall floor lamp for in the corner to the right hand side of the bed.

Here's a shot of that lamp I have. I guess I was taking a room shot & got lucky to sneak it in on the left.

I really think something similar would work for you. Something light, it's a total reproduction of something that was a hammered metal. Mine is just painted. But the silky shade...the little metal dingleballythingys just add a lighter touch to a heavy room. Like my living room. Dark woods, furniture & such
