Living room dilemmas! I need suggestions

I've been struggling since I moved into our condo with colours. I've re-painted 2x now and also sold furniture and accessories because I feel it didn't give the living room the look I wanted. My living room is also very small. Right now my dilemmas consist of pillows for the couch? Not sure what colour, or pattern to go. I also am having a hard time with curtains. I already purchased these beautiful white curtains before I went and got the new area rug. I am planning on putting these curtains in a different room because I feel there is now too much white because of the area rug. Not even sure if I want these white pillows down here anymore. Please send me your suggestions. I love hearing what other people recommend. I want the room to be beautiful and for people to say "wow". I plan on getting a floor lamp that hangs over the couch. Eventually I will get a coffee table. Suggestions for that are always appreciated to. However, for now I need advice on curtains, and pillows.

Above is a modern look. This is a more earthy/organic example.

Or silver with more glitzy fabric.
I vote for a lighter shade of teal
    And definitely solid.

Those who are asking, the paint collar colour is called Regal Wave. I purchased it at Dulux paints.

    One I can't live without ...storage ......
seating as the trays can be turned over for seating
And if you must a lap tray ....and easy wipe clean..all out of one otterman ...

Not sure what I was typing. I think I wanted to say paint wall colour*

I love it! You might just need a big plush upholstered ottoman in the centre of the room to counter balance all the objects. You could style it up with a tv tray as such. LOVE YOUR ROOM!

You've gotten some great ideas already but I wanted to add something I thought of. A small shelf on either side of that beautiful mirror with a few books on each. Books make every room look better. ;) You could add a pop of color with the shelves (even a simple pattern on the edges) or just go with the wood tone. It would make the walls look less naked, and maintain symmetry.

Re kathyjohnstnkathy's peacock suggestion: I bought a round peacock ottoman from Pier One (not sure if they still carry it), put a large teal tray on top(also from Pier One) because I didn't want it used as a seat or for my grandchildren to jump on. Put some books into the tray (you could put a plant). Bought a couple of peacock feathers from Michael's, put them in a simple vase (could be put on the ottoman or on your cube piece (to the side, so it doesn't obscure the TV (which is a bit too high). The multi-colours of the ottoman has allowed lots of colour choices in accessories in pillows, etc.) and still works with patterns. Love both your teal wall - it does look teal on my screen - and your mirror. Some books in your cube might suggest what works for colours.

I'm unsure if I want to create more holes in the wall to move the TV. It is something I will have to see. It doesn't bother me a whole lot but I do notice that it could come down a little.

Tomorrow I will be going out and taking photos of stuff for the space. I'll post them when I come home. I'll be looking for fabrics for the cubed shelf, pillows and possibly curtains. Can't wait to hear all your thoughts.

Went out in hopes of finding something for the living room. No luck today. I found some pillows I liked on one of the stores websites but didn't see them there.
These are some of the websites of the stores around where I live.

    www.urbanbarn.com
    www.bouclair.com
    www.pier1.ca

There are other stores but these ones I enjoy.

Not sure if I can find these ones in stores but here are the 3 pillows that caught my eye while looking online.

I went shopping for you yesterday at Tuesday Morning. They had several different teal styles of pillows that I thought would work for you. I wanted to take photos but my battery died. Do you live near a Tuesday Morning?

They also had some cute yellow and grey pillows that could be fun to switch it up with if you like. They were all inexpensive $9.99 to $14.99. Some were down filled.

Dare I even mention they had a peacock pillow? Who knew it was a trend when I mentioned it the first time. LOL!

I don't think we have that store where I live kathyjohnstonkathy.

What does everyone think of maybe one of these pillows?
I like the upper right and the bottom left best, but that's just me.

What does everyone think of this pillow. I really do like it. Do you think it would look good? What other pillow would you suggest with it. 2 pillows, or a display in the corner? Share your thoughts!
I like that pillow, but it's pretty busy. You'd probably need a solid one or two with it. What do you mean by a "display in the corner"?
I like it and the others in the same post it was in originally.

If you like them try them out. Don't feel you have to be matchy -matchy or symmetrical. The less predictable the pillows are the more interesting it is to the eye. And that will keep your moving which is the goal of WOW!
I like that one akoz19. Since the walls, and furnishings are predominantly solids, I don't think the pattern is too busy at all.
Thanks guys! I have to purchase them online but I'm still able to return them if needed! Hopefully they look nice. Once they come in which will probably be next week I'll take a photo. By "display in the corner" I just mean having a few pillows on one side of the couch as opposed to the other.
Before someone mentioned pillows with shimmer, so while I was out I decided to check some out.
Found a teal pattern and navy as well.
I like the fourth pillow myself. Have you decided on a complimentary color for throw, etc?
I am not able to visualize those pillows on the couch but they are cute pillows.

Were you thinking all of them or just throwing one into the mix?
I wouldn't place all of them on there. I was just out and saw them so I decided to take a couple photos. Just wondering if anyone thought they might work. I still have to order the other pillow online, the website is being difficult.
linnnie- right now I haven't thought about another colour. I do wanna explore the blue family. I'm having the hardest time just finding pillows. I always second guess myself etc. Sometimes I think it would have been easier to just hire someone to decorate.

I've been to a couple stores to look for fabric for the cubed unit. No luck, found a store I'm going to check out this week. Hopefully I'll find something. I'm trying to not get stuck on one thing (pillows).

how about a coffee table in front of your sofa? Our Zinc finish would complement your mirror; two tiers allows space to display books and art; or our blacksmith hammered Wainright table would complement the space. Salvations has a table for every space and we will customize to the perfect size. Lovely room!
I'd try the second or third one in your mix. The first one doesn't work for me and the last one is too close to the drape pattern for my taste.

Once you get those teal ones maybe you could go shopping with them to make your decision faster.

I know what you mean. I can tell everyone else what I like in their space but in my own I can never make a decision. My neighbor makes jokes about my inability to decide. Fourteen years later I'm still trying to get my front landscaping the way I want it. LOL!
New thought. If you can't find fabric for the cube thing maybe try a craft store for some paper you can cut to size. Scrape booking paper has lots of variety or I'm sure there are other types of page that might work. Just an option...

Here are a few pictures of pillows. I think you have a strong idea or what you are looking for, good luck with your ideas!

I like where you have started. I actually like your furry pillows too. It adds texture to the room. Rather than being too concerned with adding a print I think you need to finish off the room with the furniture and lighting. Add a cocktail table and put some white and teal accessories on it to continue the white from the pillows and the teal that you love. I also like the idea of adding metallic. Let your accent wall be the wow factor and everything else complement it.

I also think the TV needs to be brought down. I’m not a huge fan of the piece underneath the tv though.

this interior is very stylish and colors are all right, i think the thing is massive parts.. this corner only lacks some airy details.. for example, some lighr silk blankets on the sofa http://www.jasminesilk.com/silk-blankets/c15
    or..
vintage decorative screen, wich will skip and modify light from a window..

What do we think of this lamp?
I would put a sofa table or shelf behind the sofa to accommodate some table lamps and some books or vases.
I would love to see a picture of how your living room turned out; the couch wall, the TV wall, patio doors. I just love your blue accent wall and I'm certain whatever your final decisions were, they will be stunning.
I haven't done anything to the living room since. I got in trouble was told to start getting the bedroom done and stop focusing all my attention on the living room. I did purchase a lamp though. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I know I now need a picture above the couch. Not sure if I should keep the wall blue. Here is a pic of the couch and lamp for now. I kept paper on it because I may take the lamp back. Thoughts?
I think the lamp is too large for that area. Don't get rid of the blue wall, it is stunning with your sofa!
I agree it might be too big. Maybe a torchiere?
If you have any ideas on other lamps, feel free to add a photo.
The lamp used to hang lower but it was almost too low so we tightened it which raised it up.
Can you tell me the name of that color?? I love it!!!

Love the colors especially the blue accent wall. I agree with other comments you do need a pop of color. What if you added window treatments in a nice pattern that incorporates the color of the wall, couch and your pillows? Maybe that will tie everything together and brighten up the room. My other thought is to take away the mirror over the couch and look for a nice painting with complimentary colors to brighten things up.

I love the accent colour as it is but as it is only on one wall and your space is so small it is closing in very much and making it even smaller. I would go few shades lighter! Love your sofa, also like the idea or metallic silver but I would add lot of texture rather than more striking pattern. It would make it too overwhelming.

Um, not much on the suggestion side but more a question: What is that blue color?? Brand and name? I LOVE IT!!!

Hi Joey. The couch is from The Sofabed Company in Boca Raton Fl. The color is called Ink Blue
