Hi, I love your house. I've used Decorator's White and found it to be pretty stark white. It will depend on your light, of course. I tried a SW white for my porch that I know to be a warm, soft white and it was blinding. :)

The blog Young House Love did a Habitat for Humanities house and looked at various dark blues. Here 's the link if you want to take a look at the blues they considered. Their house also had a gray roof.

Hi Deborah, If you are concerned about the balance issue with the roof or stone, how do you feel about a lighter green gray blue tone?
The attached aren't quite there yet but just in the general color range.

Thank you so much for the ideas! Especially for the actual names of the paint colors! Wow! My BF and I are in the early stages of thinking and planning this. I enjoy the planning stages - it is so much fun!! The birch trees idea is stellar!!!!! Question, if you are facing the front....where would you place the trees? To the left around that curve of landscaping?

HI -- Yes , I think following the curve in the front would look real nice . Also a mass planting on the right side foundation , perhaps Day Lilies or Tiger lilies or just foliage like boxwood .

Stunning ideas! I was actually thinking of the Tiger Lilies too- you read my mind. The trees are great- I was having a hard time imagining them- but those are lovely! They would add so much softness to the hard lines of the ranch

HI -- I am correcting my previous answer about where to plant the trees . When facing the front I would put the trees on the right side following a curved shape like the sidewalk if you wish . I would plant an ornamental tree in the plant bed that is there on the left side. Perhaps a Japanese Maple if it's good for your zone .... or any other flowering colored tree . Your property is so large you could plant a small forest if you want . I would love to see just a scattered grove on the front right side . No little cut out circles around each tree , just have them like they would grow in the wild with grass all around . A good grass to plant would be Eco grass or called no mow grass . And let it just grow without cutting it like a meadow would be. You could even scatter seed it with meadow flowers and clover and wild daisies .It's drought tolerant too. No fuss no muss !!

HI -- To get a start on the meadow lawn --- when the old lawn is gone and when the trees are planted ---- throw handfuls of Crocus bulbs over the dirt , then go along and step on each bulb to push them into the dirt . They will be the first color up in the spring !

Great MCM home. I think the blue gray would look very nice. As for the trim, I would definitely go darker than what you currently have. How about using one of the lighter tones from the brick?
As for a meadow flowers, I love them, but that sound's more "cottage-y" than the landscape for a MCM home. If it were my house, I'd add some kind of ornamental grass on the right side of the home, and then plant some annual, seasonal flowers in front of the grass to add some color-like some small mums in the fall, etc. You could, of course, plant the perennial day lilies along with the grass, and then when they finish blooming, add the mums-even pansies later, if you are in a cold climate, since they actually can take some cold.

Thanks Lucindalane- I will have to look into a darker trim idea further. I am always using white as a default trim, but your right, a lighter field stone color might really unify the whole layout.
