We wanted to open up our out-dated kitchen to take advantage of some mountain views. The challenge was removing the dry wall soffit that hung over the kitchen. We also spent quite a while thinking about how to fill the triangular space above the cabinets where the A-frame beams intersected with the kitchen wall. We've seen homes fill this space with built-in wine racks or shadow boxes but we thought the space would be ideal for a large stained glass piece. We found a stained glass artist who worked with us to design a peaceful pine forest, lake and mountain scene.
