The grout color you choose will greatly impact the finished look. Dark grout will accentuate the linear pattern of the tile, while white grout will give your backsplash the look of a solid surface. I personally prefer the look of white grout with white subway tile. Just make sure to seal your grout lines for cleaning ease.

Thanks! That's the way I'm leaning also. I refinished my cupboard doors using chalkboard paint, so I wondered if it'd look too busy with dark grout. Appreciate your response.
