why are you responding to all of these uber-old posts?

I think that Keerthi is part of houzz and when someone posts, gets no response from us, Keerthi acknowledges that person and tries to get us involved. A gracious gesture on her part and houzz's.

often, Keerthi, I never see these posts to which you are responding. I am here on houzz a lot and probably do not know how "to search". Usually, I am attracted to outside dilemmas, particularly when the homes are antiques. Love architecture, etc. Do our interests bring us to "like" discussions?

To lancer, I have wood interior and vinyl outside. I want to be able to paint my interior woodwork and, at the same time, not have to worry about the exterior. I did Marvin windows.

Have you checked into Pella's Impervia Fiberglass windows? I'm also from Michigan, and I give them high marks for quality, and an excellent option for harsh weather areas (along lake Michigan and Lake Huron!). http://www.pella.com/windows/learn-about-options-and-features/materials/fiberglass-composite.aspx
I would recommend you visit a Pella store and see an actual window (not just the web info!).

thank you everyone for your responses. We ended up going with Pella's Impervia Fiberglass. LOVE the look and low maintenance. I would say it's the best option if you want the modern or commercial look. We are still working on the exterior finishes. ANother item I was looking for was aluminumn soffit that looks like wood (again, I'm going low maintenance). COuldn't find it, so we ended up with dark brown. NOw we are looking for color and stone to finish.

Actually the reviews are pretty much terrible (like the window) and any pro in my opinion would back that up.

@lancer123 how are the windows holding up for you now?!
