Cabinet and trim color!

We are currently building and need to pick our cabinet and trim color. We originally chose BM White dove which I love. Then our designer told us that we could go with a better quality paint but would have to change to BM linen white. The color samples do not look much different in person but the swatches definitely make Linen white feel creamier. I do not want stark white but also do not want cream. Our wall color is BM Bone white and backsplash is white beveled subway tile. Our granite is white galaxy which looks great with either color. Opinions appreciated!

Hi---with all the different tints of white, chances are one is going to look cream, or gray, or peach, etc. when paired together. Since you have the granite and backsplash chosen (nice selections), I would refer to both when choosing cabinet and wall color---make sure you're looking at the tile vertically as it will be darker than looking at it face up. I think the color of the cabs is more important and I do prefer the White Dove over the Linen. Decorators White would be next. As for walls, I suggest going with a white that is at least one shade darker than the cabs. Good Luck!

I think you should go with your designer, since the linen wouldn't fight with the granite and the tiles but will balance everything. The Bone white will be to different from the granite but the Dove white will pasteurise everything. So, my choice is your designer's one, go with the Linen white.

All light and colour are relative. If you have any doubts, paint a sample on some large white board and place it over the area you wish to paint. Leave it for 24 hours and watch how the light (natural and artificial) changes it.

We went with white dove on our cabinets and linen on our walls. The walls look like a warm cream in some lights and a warm yellow in others. I suggest something more white.

If your backsplash is going to be a bright white then I think your cabinets should be too. Otherwise the backsplash white may over-emphasize the undertones in your creamier cabinet color, making the cabinets look either too pink or yellow in comparison. Some people like this look, but you should make sure you are one of them before committing to it.

The cabinets shutter colour should either match the backsplash colour or the wall colour to create a cohesive look. The trim colour & shutter knob design can bring the character you need
