it all depends on the look that one is looking for, example... they look nice in an industrial styled home ,in a bar or recreation room ,no room for them over here .

I would never have neon in my home. Would make me feel like I lived on the Sunset strip or Vegas. I agree with rainymorning.

I don't have a problem with neon lights depending on where they are. In a home theater, a bar area, a lounge, that's where I'd put them. But people can do whatever they want because it IS their home.

Mine would go in a guest bathroom and say *FOCUS* ;)

Personally I love that it says "LOVE", I love that the owner loved THEIR home enough to hang the word LOVE and I love that people can select art for what it is, their art to LOVE and LIVE with. That's good design, to LOVE your home and what's in it! I've been in homes that I would never want to live in.. I appreciate that it's Their home, not mine!

I have a friend who found one that said "SHOES" It was in her closet and it was darling!

I worked with a client that had an old restaurant sign that says LASAGNA....we put it in the family room...love the graphic element it brings to the space. And it looks great at night!

Word walls are such a design cliche. So are those little cutesy inspirational sayings. They're one step above the plaques people used to hang in their homes (.ie. Home Sweet Home, or So and So's kitchen,etc.). Enough!

Mine would be an arrow that I would hang outside and it would say " Front Door."

Can't stand them - we have enough ads - last place we need them is in the home. Home is the place for calm and beauty.

My dad, back in the '40s, used to complain about the strings of bright lights that were beginning to appear on neighbors' houses and yards at Christmas. He'd say -- you guessed it! -- It's like living in a hot-dog stand! Well, he clearly lost that battle. I think people were tired of privation and the war blackouts; that "look" has been roaring along for 75 years now, at least.

But I can't think of any room in my house that needs neon.
