Can you tell me the approx dimensions of the posts (width, not necessarily the height)? They look very big but I can't tell if that's just from the photo angle. Thanks!

    The architectural drawings for this house are archived, so I can't say for sure. They ARE big -- I'd guess at least 18".

    I asked our construction Group - These posts carry the vertical load of the main building from the second floor and roof down to the footings. They will also support the wind loading (no snow here in SC). They are about 12" in section but made from engineered timber so they will not sol;it of warp as temperature and humidity changes.
