Looking around a bit, I found this one from Ikea. I have never used Ikea lighting but this is priced well and has a light airy, beach look to it...

It looks nice ....but to clean it would be a bit tricky at least I think so :)

Your room is nice and fresh I would simply lower that light fixture and get an area rug for under the table with that money :) I like that picture that you have on the wall could you please take a photo with a closer look it could be useful as an inspiration too :)

Art above the window... the background is white and the colors are more bold but you can see the idea...

    Just has I thought ! Lovely :)
Now... if you were to change that light fixture you would also need to change those 2 pendants unless you could find a perfect match . I'm sticking with the light fixture still and the rug but that is me of course :)

Looking at your art I think that the rug would be the perfect one and the price is not bad either just in your budget:)
Wondering if I would have to match perfectly if I go a completely different route, like this one? Beach inspired but not white. Yay or nay?
You could wonder off if you like too ,for the beach inspired one I really don't like the twigs I rather go with sea shells ,they are softer looking ,thinking of Mother of Pearl right now :))

Yes, that is gorgeous, keeping with the "circles" present in the art and rug.

Wait !!! I found one that would work for you no need to change the others with this one :)

Ok, I think I am going to take your initial advice. Keep the light, lower it, and buy the rug. It will make the most impact, I think, plus save some money. Never wrong!! Thank you so much! You've been AWESOME. My husband will thank you, too!

here is a diy for you, you can order replacement glass with a 2 1/4 fitter, (standard bath and fan glass size), Lowe's and home goods stores often have them, or you can order them. you can make it more modern or rustic. and get it away from the builder look a little more. go with a ribbed or seeded glass and a filament bulb or more contemporary with a soft shape and drizzle pattern. and change the pendant glass too..

Thank you Terri ! :) I'm pleased that you will take that route and please post a photo when you are done I'm sure that you and your husband will enjoy the rug under your feet too:)) ,enjoy your beautiful kitchen/dining room I love it very much :) if you are keen on the beach theme ,you could get some sea shells an a glass apothecary jar and enjoy them that way :)
